bwwill@pica.army.mil. Requirement for the Cap, blasting: non-electric,
500-foot shock tube, M12 Inert. The M12 Inert shall consist of a
500-foot length of Inert shock tube, environmentally sealed at one end,
and with a non-electric, factory-installed inert #8 commercial blasting
cap attached at the other end. Attached to the inert blasting cap shall
be a plastic holder, capable of holding between one to five other shock
tube line. The shock tube shall be wound around a durable spool made of
metal or plastic. The end of the shock tube shall protrude from the
center of the spool core and extend a minimum of 6 inches from the
spool head. The inert blasting cap shall have through holes such that
it is see through from one side to the other in the final assembly. No
filler is allowed in the blasting cap. It is estimated that a quantity
between 5,000 to 6,000 M12 Inert will be procured. The M12 inert shall
be packaged in quantity of 8 items per box. Use of commercial package
for the M12 (live) is acceptable for this effort. At least 2 item each
of the M12 inert in its commercial packaging will be required with
