purpose of this solicitation is to provide technical and program
support to the Rural Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program,
and to define and develop the Rural ITS through systems engineering,
integration, analysis, documentation, and deployment and planning
guidance. This includes further defining Advanced Rural Transportation
Systems (ARTS) within the context of the National ITS program, the
U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) ARTS Strategic Plan, the ARTS
Program Plan, and the National ITS Architecture. More information about

will: provide support to all offices within DOT responsible for the
Rural ITS program, ensuring that the rural systems are further defined,
developed, and documented to meet the needs of users and operators
within the rural transportation system; provide technical evaluation of
actions that will impact the rural aspects of the National ITS
Architecture (such as the development of standards);and provide support
and assistance for outreach and mainstreaming activities in support of
state and local implementors to help them deploy the rural system
design. This is a full and open solicitation and is not a follow-on
contract. NO FURTHER SOLICITATION INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS
TIME. This solicitation will only be released and available

HTTP://EPS.ARNET.GOV. Accordingly, no written, telephone, facsimile or

this solicitation will only be available electronically, it will be the
