TON 54 $ $____________ TOTAL BID $______________ Specs -- Asphaltic Emulsions and Distributor Trucks shall meet Caltrans Standard Specification, July 1992. Two distributor trucks shall be provided at all times the asphalt emulsion is being spread. Tentative time for the work is 7/6 to 7/9 9:00 am-5:00 pm. The Government will give the supplier 2 weeks prior notice of the required start date and time. The supplier shall provide instruction on the techniques of chip sealing with the Asphaltic Emulsions prior to the start of work. The supplier shall have a representative on the job during the first day of work. The instructor/representative shall be a technical expert in chip sealing with at least 5 years experience in chip sealing. The supplier shall test two aggregate samples provided by the Government for compatibility with the Asphaltic Emulsion and determine an initial application rate for both the Asphaltic Emulsion and the Aggregate. Payment for the instruction, representative on the site, and testing of the aggregate shall be included in the unit price of the Asphaltic Emulsion. Payment for the distributor truck spreading time will begin at the scheduled start time or the actual start time if earlier than the scheduled start time. The time will end each day at the completion of work. Standby time will begin 2 hours after the scheduled delivery time or on arrival if later. Payment will begin 2 hours after the beginning of unloading if the unloading starts earlier than the scheduled delivery time. Payment will end when unloaded or when released from the job site. Delivery Info -- Delivery shall be made to several locations within the job site. To reach the job site turn east off of US Highway 395 just North of Big Pine, CA. onto Hightwy 168. Proceed East for 13 miles to reach the Bristlecone Pine Road. The project starts at the intersection and continues for 10.3 miles to the North on the Bristlecone Pine Road. The road climbs from Big Pine to the end of the job at 10,000 feet in elevation. Quotes are due at close of business on JUNE 11, 1998. Quote information may be faxed to 530-621-5258.
