Johnson, 202-283-1137 Description: The Internal Revenue Service intends to issue a purchase order to provide integration support and commercial off the shelf (COTS) system software maintenance service (software upgrades, Software Changes, Hardware debugging support) at all IRACS government sites for the Interim Revenue Accounting Control System (IRACS). This acquisition will include troubleshooting problems on all IRACS Production and Production Assurance systems whether it occurs on the workstation, server, LAN, WAN, or within the mainframe environment. Technical expertise will be needed to make changes to the Interim Revenue Accounting Control System (IRACS), Volume 1, IRACS Lan Administration Guide for: Communications/File Servers and Workstation. Training will be required on any software changes or upgrades made to IRACS. The Principal Period of Maintenance (PPM) is defined as Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm local time, excluding government recognized holidays. Local time is defined as 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. within the four (4) national time zones in which IRACS sites are located.The response time is within two hours after the government has notified the contractor's designated contact point. Examples of the Type Software and Hardware are (1) Fastback Plus V1.0 for OS/2, IBM Communications Manager/2 V1.1, IBM DB2/2 V1.2 CS, IBM OS/2 V2.11, LOTUS 123 for OS/2, McAfee Virus Protection for OS/2, IBM LAN Server 4.0 Advanced for OS/2, IBM LAN Requester 4.0 for OS/2, Pinnancle Desktop observatory for OS/2, IBM Multiprotocol Adapter, . . . The contractor shall be a BESTEAM Software member. Examples of the qualification required are 1) ability to analyze and assist trouble-shooting the Sync Research Pads, various modem, Netrix switch, Comten FEPs, MVS/VTAM, and CICS which are critical components in the RACS communications system. 2) Ability to analyze the MVS system logs, DB2 system logs for errors or problems related to RACS. 3) Experience with VTAM configuration and problem determination of networking error with IRACS. 4) Performance tuning experience with operating systems, network, communications, and databases. 5) Expert understanding of PC hardware to include the following (a) debugging of memory problems (b) IRQ conflicts (c) DMA conflicts (d) BIOS setup/configuration... . Ability to debug printer problems in the following areas: (a) HP Jet Admin/Jet Direct, (b) Host remote printing/PDT files (c) MVS-VPS product (d) MVS/VTAM (e) OS/2 Spooler ... . The IRS will be migrating to year 2000 certified products for all system software. The period of Performance will be from October 01, 1998 through September 30, 1999.
