The Social Security Administration seeks to enter into a written agreement with one firm to buy and remove the equipment from SSA field offices. Interested parties will be given a detailed list of the types and amounts of equipment available, the location of the field offices where the equipment is located, and a schedule for equipment pick-up. This information will be furnished to firms as it becomes available to the Government. The equipment will be available either shrink-wrapped or boxed at the field location. The vendor will be responsible for picking up the equipment at a designated time and location, which may be after business hours. The equipment will be sold "as is" by the Government at EXTREMELY minimal values. Neither SSA, nor any other government agency, assumes any responsibility or liability for its condition, or for its use after purchase by the buyer. Any and all offers consistent with the above provisions will be considered. Offers for purchase of the equipment will be considered on a case-by-case basis as they are received. There is no possibility of "backordering" equipment that previously has been removed from field offices that already have been renovated. The government reserves the right to refuse sale to any party whose offer is inconsistent with the criteria set forth herein. Interested parties must respond within 21 days of this notification.
