E-MAIL: Gary P. Topper, topperg@rcb.nci.nih.gov. The National Cancer
Institute, Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences, is
seeking additional sources to expand the existing Master Agreement (MA)
pool for cancer control surveillance. The primary purpose of this MA
pool is to conduct surveys and similar evaluation processes. The term
"survey" is used to connote a full range of studies, including
probability sample surveys and specialty studies requiring data
abstraction. The MA mechanism is a technical pre-qualification to
enable qualified sources to compete for and perform future contracts
which will be awarded based on a Request for Proposals (RFP). The MA
itself is not funded. Obligation of funds shall be accomplished solely
through the award of contracts. The contracts will be issued on either
a cost or fixed price basis. The Master Agreement Announcement (MAA) is
scheduled for electronic release on or about June 12, 1998 with
proposals due on or about August 5, 1998. It is anticipated that
multiple Master Agreements (MAs) will be awarded pursuant to the MAA.
Any MA awarded will have a period of performance from the effective
date of award through September 29, 1999. Current MA holders include
the following: Abt Associates, Inc., Aspen Systems Corporation,
