procurement using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures as established
in FAR Part 13. This procurement is intended as a Small Business
Set-Aside. The Subsurface Protection and Remediation Division of the
National Risk Management Research Laboratory located in ADA, Oklahoma
is in ned of purchasing a Carbon Determinator for determining various
carbon contents in matrices such as soils, sediments, plants, seds and
other solid materials. Determinator will need to have the cpacity to
determine total, inorganic and organic carbon in these solid matrices
at low levels. These determinators will be utilied predominatly in the
research performed at the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center
in the rotection and remediation of the subsurface and ground water and
in the ecosystem restoration program. The instrument needed will
require automation of sample loading and computer sample data
processing. The vendor shall provide an instrument with the following
miniumu specifications: (1) Sample Size: Up to 350 mg. (2) Instrument
Range @ 350 mg. Carbon: 50 ppm or .005% to 26%. (3) Precision: Carbon:
Less than or equal to 1% RSD. (4) Readability: 10ppm (5) Calibration:
Linear, quadratic and cubic polynominal (6) Analysis Time: Less than
or equal to 120 seconds (7) Balance Readability and Repeatability:
0.001 to 9.000g +/- 0.001. (8) Detection Method: Infrared. (9) Furnace:
Range 400 degrees C to 1450 degrees C. (10) Data Storage: Up to 100
sample data. (11) Autoloader Positions: Up to 36. Pricing should
include set up and check out of the instrument to insure minimum
specifications are being met. Training shall be provided for up to four
people adequately to instruct technicians to have a general working
knowledge of the instrument. This CBD notice is also acting as the
Request for Quotation (RFQ). All interested vendors must have their
price quotations in not later than 5 Jun 1998. All responsible sources
may submit a written quotation which will be considered by the Agency.
