The US Army TACOM/ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. intends to go sole source to Aerojet Corporation, Azusa, Ca. for the design, development, test and analysis of a sensor suite coupling LADAR, MMW, and IR technologies within a fused environment; integrating selected sensors into mobile testbeds for testing in field environments and tactical scenarios; evaluating these technologies to downselect a near optimal candidate for integration into the baseline SADARM system; and conducting various trade studies to look at packaging, weight, cost, performance, and integration issues relevant to the baseline SADARM host sub-munition. Additional trade studies shall be undertaken to leek at carrier platforms for the SADARM Block II sub-munition, carrier packaging and configuration constraints, as well as electronic, hardware, and software compatibility issues. Deliverables for this program shall include developed sensor hardware with associated electronic and computer linkages; discriminator algorithms and operational software; field test data and evaluation results in electronic formats; electronic documentation of trade studies completed; and programmatic and administrative reports.
