Based upon the availability of Fiscal Year 1998 funds, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a need to complete construction renovation of its Building #10 Project (Phase 2) at the FBI Academy, Quantico Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia. Construction renovation shall include, but is not limited to: civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical work to convert existing high-bay garage space into office and equipment repair space. The primary elements of the renovation effort shall include, but are not limited to: concrete work, underground tank removal, window wall system, aluminum and glass, concrete masonry units, ceramic tile, acoustical ceiling, metal doors and frames, metal railings, toilet accessories, vinyl tile and base, gypsum board systems, and civil work. Detailed requirements and specifications are included in the solicitation. The estimated cost for this work is between $250,000 and $500,000. Tentative release date for the solicitation is July 1998. The solicitation shall be available by mail request only at a cost of $250 per set with a limit of two (2) sets per requesting firm. Firms wishing to reserve a copy at this time may do so by remitting its deposit to Bernice T. Evans, Room 10254, JEH/FBI Building, 935 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20535. Deposits are fully refundable upon return of the complete solicitation to the FBI, at the address provided in the solicitation, within 15 calendar days following Bid Opening. The solicitation shall be available on a first-come-first-serve basis until supply is exhausted. This requirement will not be placed in a local area Plans Room. The successful contractor shall be required to adhere to FBI security requirements as set forth in the contract documents. Performance Bond is required. Access to the job site shall be limited to U.S. Citizens ONLY. Payment Bond is required if sub-contractors will be used onthe project.
