(717)-790-4244. This is a combined SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for Commercial
items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being
requested and a written soliciation will not be issued. (ii) This
soliciation Number N00391-98-Q-MD29 is issued as a request for proposal
(RFP). (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through FEDERAL ACQUISITION CIRCULAR
#90-42, and DEFENSE FEDERAL ACQUISITION CIRUCULAR #91-11. (iv) This
solicitation is a small business set-aside. SIC is 3496. Prepare
response in accordance with the following: 2 each Crosby G-2160 "Wide
Body" Sling Saver Ally Shackle with the following: 600 Metric Ton
Capacity, Crosby Stock #1021352; accompanied with certification for
capacity in pounds, non-destructive testing, material (mill) analysis,
Charpy impact properties, proof testing, expressed in pounds. Also
Crosby written instructions for field inspection, acceptance criteria
and non-destructive testing, also availability for a pair of these
shackles. Second item -- 1 matched set of two slings in accordance with
the following: Manufactured in accordance with ANSI/ASME B30.9-1996; 3
1/2" X 70' 6X37 Class SWS, EIPS, IWRC, with standard sized, (of
sufficient size to fit Crosby G-2160/1021352 Shackle bow); mechanical
swedged and flemished eyes, vertical rated capacity (safe working load)
of 204,000 lbs.; slings to be labeled and proof tested at two times the
vertical rated capacity per requirement of ASME B30.9. Slings to be
accompanied with written certification for: material and assembly of
slings, weight of each sling, proof testing, expressed in pounds, and
safe working loads per configuration expressed in pounds. (v) The
contractor shall provide delivery on an FOB destination basis to the
address provided. (vi) FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to offerors,
Commercial, is incorporated by reference and applies to this
acquisition. (vii) FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation, Commercial Items (Oct 1995)
is incorporated by reference and applies to this acquisition. (viii).
ADDENDUM 52.212-2 Para (a) Award will be based on the greatest
percentage of return to the government. (ix) Offerors shall include a
complete copy of the provisions at FAR 52-212-3,, Offeror
Representations and Certifications, Commercial Items (Oct 1995) with
its offeror. (x) FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions,
Commercial items (Oct 1995) is incorporated by reference and applies to
this acquisition and resulting contract. The resulting contract will be
a firm, fixed price ( FFP). (xi) FAR 52.212 -5 Contract Terms and
