15 -- A-10 EMBEDDED GLOBAL POSITIONING SY SOL F04606-98-99999 DUE 070698 POC For copy, contact the info office indicated., For additional information contact Smittle.5js/Pkl-1/[916]643-4703 The Air Force intends to contract for the In-Theater installation of Embedded Global Positioning System modification on 21, A-10 aircraft located at Spangdahlem Air Base Germany. The contracotr shall be responsible for the installation of government furnished aircraft modification kits at a location in Europe. The Air Force does not have facilities available for contractor use. The contractor shall provide all backshop support for the installation effort. The Air Force will be performing a kit validation installation at the Aircraft Maintenance and Regeneration Center, located at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ. The Kit Validation is scheduled to take 51 days and is to begin on or about 03 Jun 98. Contractors who meet the following qualifications will be offered the opportunity to witness the Kit Validation at no cost to the Government. Evidence of these qualifications shall be submitted in writing to Christy Smittle, SM-ALC/PKL-1, 5040 Dudley Blvd., Suite 17, McClellan AFB CA 95652- 1050, (916) 643-4703, not later than 27 May 98. Qualifications: 1. Air field and plant facilities to receive, secure, store and and modify fly-in A-10 aircraft to be provided by the Govt. 2. Capabilities to conduct Functional Check Flights from the contractor's facilities. 3. Experience in installation of aircraft modifications. 4. Employees experienced in aircraft egress systems and handling of weapons.
