S -- MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF TEMPORARY BUILDINGS, FORT LEWIS, WA SOL DACA67-98-R-0026 DUE 071998 POC Contract Specialist Mary E Mitton (206) 764-6806 (Site Code DACA67) This notice is to modify the synopsis published on 17 March 1998 for the subject RFP. The solicitation is revised from 100% small business set- aside to an unrestricted procurement under Standard Industrial Code 8744. This notice further modifies the original synopsis to delete the provision for construction work over $2,000 and Davis-Bacon wage rates. Service Contract Act wage rates will be utilized for all work. This project will require the contractor to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on World War II wooden buildings during one base year and three option years. Contract performance is expected to begin on 1 October 1998. The contractor must be experienced in the following: (a) preventive maintenance of heating systems (cyclic), (b) plumbing, (c) electrical, (d) commercial kitchen equipment repair and servicing, (e) pest control in dining facilities, (f) handling a Service Call Desk and prioritizing service orders, and (g) utilizing computer systems for keeping records of services performed. Estimated cost range is NTE $1.3 million for the base period, NTE $1 million for the first option, NTE $0.7 million for the second option, and NTE $0.5 million for the third option; with a total of NTE $3.5 million for the total contract period. Some of these temporary wooden structures will be demolished during the contract period. Wooden structures are the types normally found at military installations. The contract will be a fixed-price contract with an award fee. Pricing will be based on fixed monthly fees that will be supplemented, when needed, with a small number of NTE items for additional miscellaneous labor, materials or equipment required for contract performance. AVAILABILITY: Plans and specs available on or about 27 May 98, at no charge per set. The solicitation will be issued on a CD. No individual sheets are available. Documents will be issued on a first come, first served basis until supply is exhausted. No phone requests accepted. Refer to RFP No. DACA67-98-R-0026 when ordering. Submit requests by 21 May 98. The procurement is now open to both large and small businesses. For the purposes of this procurement,a concern is considered a small business under SIC Code 8744 if its annual average gross revenue taken for the last 3 fiscal years does not exceed $20 million.
