commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued.
Solicitation MDA908-98-R-0033 is hereby issued as a Request for
Proposal (RFP). The Virginia Contracting Activity, on behalf of the
Office of the Inspector General, Department of Defense, (OIG-DoD), upon
internal approvals, intends to procure a quantity of 540 Compaq or
Equal brand Pentium computers. The Government intends to award a firm
fixed price contract resulting from this synopsis/solicitation to the
Offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation provides the best
value to the Government. The Government reserves the right to award to
other than the lowest priced offer if, in its judgment, the technical
superiority outweighs the price. The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular Nr. XX. The following FAR provisions/clauses apply
to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offer's Commercial
Items; 52.212-2, Evaluation of Commercial Items; 52.213-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, provide completed
copy with your proposal; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions
Commercial Items, 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to
Implement Statues or Executive Orders Commercial Items, 52.215-9,
Submission of Offers; 52.215-10, Late Submissions, Modifications, and
Withdrawals of Proposals; 52.215-16, Contract Award. Proprietary
information provided must be marked in accordance with FAR 52.215-12.

synopsis/solicitation are due NLT 12:00 noon EST, 26 May 1998.
