Management Division of the Sacramento Air Logistics Center is seeking
sources to provide logistical support, maintenance, and minor hardware
upgrades for the Advanced Defense Switch Network Integrated Management
Support System (ADIMSS) and the Advanced Red Defense Switch Network
Integrated Management Support System (ARDIMSS). A complete listing of
the specific equipment involved is available in the ADIMSS/ARDIMSS
Support Plan, which may be obtained by contacting the Technical
POC-John Deuster. Sites to be supported are: CONUS: Scott AFB IL, the
Pentagon Washington DC, HQ DISA Reston VA, and OVERSEAS: Wheeler AAF
HI, Patch Barracks Germany, Rhiyadh AB KSA, DISA Japan Yokota AB Japan.
The contemplated requirement will begin in FY99 and continue for a
five-year period. Potential sources must have the technical
capabilities necessary to: 1) Restore service to critical equipment
within 12 hours [on a 24 hour clock, seven days a week]. 2) Restore
service to administrative equipment within 12 hours [on a 9 hour clock,
Monday-Friday duty hours only]. 3) Maintain the current configuration
management information at a level sufficient to describe to an external
CLS support contractor the configuration of the equipment at the site
and the overall system. 4) Support a 24-hour trouble call desk with
personnel possessing the technical expertise necessary to resolve
engineering and technical problems arising at a system or site level.
5) Provide form, fit, function, hardware replacements to the government
system engineer for testing [per current version software] prior to
operational installation. 6) Develop and maintain a system to provide
spares as needed to meet the service restoration requirements as stated
above. 7) Access and understand the technical data base for the
ADIMSS/ARDIMSS systems and provide the necessary technical data to the
system users. 8) Provide and maintain facilities to protect Government
property from damage while in the possession of the contractor or under
their control. 9) Demonstrate an existing worldwide presence and the
ability to deploy personnel to the sites previously listed in a manner
capable of meeting the service restoration requirements. 10) Possess
and retain a license to repair Sun Spark workstations and Sun
peripherals worldwide throughout the contemplated period of
performance. 11) Although not mandatory, it would be advantageous to
prospective sources to possess [or have the ability to obtain] a Top
Secret SCI Security Clearance as it would eliminate the need for
full-time government escorts while at each site. This is not a Request
For Proposals, the information requested is for information and
planning purposes only. No contract will be awarded as a result of this
survey. The Government does not intend to pay for this information and
no entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by
the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to
this sources sought synopsis and Government use of such information.
Interested potential sources are invited to submit a package
delineating qualifications and capabilities pertaining to performance
of the above ADIMSS/ARDIMSS requirements. Additionally, any past
experience with the ADIMSS/ARDIMSS system, other telecommunications
equipment, or Sun Spark workstations and Sun peripherals, should be
documented, including points of contact and their phone numbers. Submit
information packages no later than 20 days after publication of this
notice to: Al Gibson, SM-ALC/PKL-2, 3237 Peacekeeper Way-Suite 17,
McClellan AFB CA 95652-1060. Upon receipt they will be forwarded to the
Technical POC for review and evaluation. Repondents may be requested to
provide additional information based on their initial submittals.
Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of
the information submitted, however, sources deemed fully qualified will
be included on the recommended source list if this becomes a formal
