Wysong, 907/683-2294 Notice is hereby given that Denali National Park
and Preserve is seeking commercial providers of dog sled tours for
four (4) concessions. A prospectus has been developed that describes
the nature of services to be provided under the authority of
concessions permits. Specifically, offers will be accepted to provide
dog sledding for passenger service and/or overnight supported ski trips
within the boundaries of Denali National Park and Preserve during
periods of adequate snow cover. Two permits may be issued for overnight
trips and two permits may be issued for day trips. Passenger service
will consist of providing day or overnight trips through the use of dog
sleds. Overnight supported ski trips will utilize dog sleds to
transport skiers' suppplies and equipment. Four entry zones have been
established for these services: 1. One permit will allow for overnight
access to the park from the west boundary. 2. One permit will allow
for overnight access to the park from the northeast boundary. 3. One
permit will allow for day use access from the park headquarters area.
4. One permit will allow for day use access from the park's southeast
boundary. Copies of the prospectus may be obtained by writing to:
Superintendent, Denali National Park and Preserve, P.O. Box 9, Denali
Park, Alaska 99755. Two types of preferences apply to the award of
these concessions permits. The provisions of the Alaska National
Interest Lands Conservation Act (16 U.S.C. 3197), Section 1307(b) and
36 CFR 13.83 apply to this solicitation. Preference will be given to
the Native Corporation(s) most directly effected by the creation of
Denali National Park and Preserve and to persons who are determined to
be local residents. The preferences established in ANILCA Section 1307
take precedence over the preferential right of renewal granted
incumbent concessioners. This is a new service and there are no
incumbent concessioners. All interested parties are encouraged to apply
and the Secretary will consider and evaluate all offers received as a
result of this notice. Any offer must be received by the
Superintendent, Denali National Park and Preserve, P.O. Box 9, Denali
Park, Alaska 99755, not later than the closing date described above, to
