Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is seeking any qualified firms who can perform quick turn- around human factors analyses of consumer products. Contractors must possess expertise in the areas of applied human factors psychology and research, including human behavior, errors and perception, safety practices and design, biomechanics and ergonomic analyses. Experience in developmental psychology and child behavior, including children's cognitive and motor performance, play patterns, and interactions with toys and other consumer products is required for consideration for this procurement. Access to daycare centers, play groups, or other children's groups for research purposes is also necessary. Contractor's offices shall be located within a 50-mile radius of the CPSC staff offices at Bethesda, MD, for the purpose of meeting with CPSC staff. Analyses are typically required within a three- week period; however, periodic informal consulting on a more immediate basis is sometimes required. This will be an indefinite quantity type contract, under which fixed price task orders will be issued. This is not a Request for Proposal. Contractors possessing these capabilities should fax or send a maximum, three (3) page description of their capabilities and other qualifying information which indicates they can perform the human factors requirements specified above. Also indicate the business size and 8(a) applicability status. This information shall be faxed or sent by May 15, 1998 to the U. S.
