SOL DACW29-98-Q-0196 DUE 052198 POC Patricia Perkins, Contract Specialist, (504) 862-2876 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Westerink and Luettich Consulting of Southbend, IN, for Computer Modeling Analysis in support of hurricane hindcasting and tide analysis for the Southern Louisiana, Lake Pontchartrain-Mississippi Delta Region. The computer modeling analysis will utilize the ADCIRC-2DDI modeling system developed and patented by Drs. J.J. Westerink and R.A. Luettich. Drs. Westerink and Luettich possess the expertise necessary to perform the requirements of this analysis. The purpose of the computer modeling analysis will be to perform simulations of eighteen historical hurricanes. Also, the analysis will perform baratropic simulations of the dominant constituent tidal hydrodynamics of the Southern Louisiana, Lake Pontchartrain-Mississippi Delta Region. Tidal and hurricane storm hydrographic data produced by the simulations will be verified at select sites to validate the accuracy of the ADCIRC-2DDI computer modeling analysis.
