44 -- TWO (2) 1500 POUND DURALINE MELTING FURNACES SOL N68335-98-R-0224 DUE 052998 POC Ms. Mary O'Connor, (732)-323-2068 NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. The Lakehurst Naval Air Warfare Center intends to procure two (2) Inductotherm 1500 Pound DuraLine Melting Furnaces from Inductotherm Corp. These furnaces must be purchased from Inductotherm Corp because the 3000 Hz controller supplied with the original equipment is being retained and cannot be interfaced with other manufacturer's furnaces. The government intends to procure these furnaces under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 and under an approved Justification and Approval (J&A). Firms that recognize and procduce the required items are encouraged to identify themselves. No solicitation is available. All responsibles sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See numbered Note(s) 22.
