58 -- MODIFICATION TO DOINET CONTRACT FOR WAN EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES POC Kimberly Kleeb (CO) 703-648-7370, Karen Staubs (Contact) 703-648-7372 The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to negotiate, on a sole-source basis, a modification to Contract No. 1434-93-C-30096 with Sprint Communications Corporation, 13211 Woodland Park Road, Herndon, Virginia. The modification will serve solely to increase the maximum under this indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity from $27,198,966 to $35,358,656. The modification will provide for only the purchasing of equipment and services that already exist on the contract. The contract was awarded to Sprint in April 1993, and includes options to extend the contract period through April 12, 2001. The contract is used to provide equipment and services to all bureaus of the Department of the Interior (DO) in support of DOINET, which is the Department's Wide Area Network (WAN). Request for Proposal (RFP) is not available since USGS intends to negotiate a contract modification with Sprint. Any other firm desiring consideration must submit documentation which demonstrates its capabilities in detail to the Contracting Officer within 45 calendar days after the publication date of this synopsis.
