This project consists of the design and construction of certain renovations to an existing space in a building located at 2525 Busse Road (approximately 250,000 square feet) to meet United States Postal Service (USPS) criteria. The successful Design/Build Contractor shall provide necessary design services and construction for the improvements necessary to make 2525 Busse Road a fully operational (USPS) Facility. The following items are included in the work: site demolition, site grading, drainage, utilities, paving, striping, landscaping, signage, and lighting. Interior work includes, but is not limited to: demolition of certain existing office spaces and certain masonry walls, renovations of certain office spaces, construction of new two level areas to accommodate lunchroom, restrooms, and storage. Also renovation of existing space to accommodate new battery room, plumbing for renovated restroom areas, upgrade lighting, upgrade HVAC system, renovate certain dock positions to meet USPS standards including levelers, seals, doors, lights, restraints. Further work includes construction of new look out gallery, new inspection service investigative office, closed circuit criminal investigative security system (to match existing), provide wall and column protection, provide compressed air piping to new automation equipment, painting, floor coverings, and security system to match existing. Work also includes systematic removal and replacement of existing maneuvering area at existing surface hub docks. Contractor's schedule must be set to deliver certain spaces, including air and utilities, to power new automation equipment to meet the USPS deployment schedule. Universal wiring is excluded from this project. Time of completion is 180 calendar days after notice to proceed, to include both design and construction. A management plan to identify on-site staffing and key personnel assigned to this project, with appropriate resumes and applicable SF-254 are required with this proposal. A project schedule is also required with this proposal. This scope of work is further defined in the plans and specifications. Construction cost is estimated to be between $4,500,000 to $5,300,000.
