The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) requires a picosecond laser system to be used in optical diagnostic studies of flame inhibition and extinction as part of NRL's research effort on halon alternatives. The required equipment is as follows: Nd:YAG Laser, mode locked, 10 Hz Repetition Rate, 80 picoseconds Pulse Duration; and a optical parametric generator (OPG). A Second Harmonic Generator will also be purchased. Installation, Testing and Training will be required. The delivery schedule is 4 months after award.
