69 -- VEHICLE TIMING SYSTEMS DUE 052098 POC Guy Thompson, Contracting Officer, (912) 267-2303 This is a "Sources Sought Notice" issued by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) for the purpose of gathering possible sources of supply for Vehicle Timing Systems for use in timing law enforcement students in driver training for emergency/non-emergency response and pursuit. This timing system must be capable of: (1) timing separate start and finish line process, (2) timing vehicles passing by the same point or parallel to the same point for starting and stopping the process, (3) time up to 12 vehicles at a time on each of six driver training ranges, (4) entering driver names and correlating them with their assigned vehicle number for evaluation purposes, (5) stopping the timing process and restarting the timing of the vehicles when problems occur during training, (6) allowing timing from the same or different timing points (different start and finish lines), (7) furnishing a record of each vehicle's times via 3.5" disk and hard copy, (8) must be weather and vibration proof, easy to maintain, have readily available accessories, replacement parts and components, use standard electricity and/or service warranty, and be simple enough to be operated by an average instuctional staff without indepth computer knowledge.
