N00024-98-R-6316 POC Steve Caracciolo, Contracting Officer, NAVSEA 026,
(703) 602-0951, Extension 633. This synopsis inadvertently appeared
under section P (Salvage Services) on 17 April 1998. The U.S. Navy
intends to procure further development of the AN/WLD-1 Remote
Minehunting System. The sole source contract is based upon a system
design being developed by Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems under
NAVSEA contract N00024-96-C-6322. Proposed system design changes for
the AN/WLD-1 include integration into the AN/SQQ-89(V)15 Undersea
Warfare Combat System and DDG-51 class ships and integration of the new
sensor suite into the system. Lockheed Martin is the only known company

the overall RMS system design and integration to develop an Engineering
Development Model (EDM). No other source currently possesses the
technical qualifications and necessary resources to perform the work
described herein. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities
in mine warfare sensors, over-the-horizon wide bandwidth data links,
associated technologies and other areas, should contact Lockheed Martin
Integrated Systems. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a
