The US Army Research Office (ARO) announces the issuance of the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Department of the Army's Advanced Concepts and Technology II (ACT II) Program. The ACT II program encourages application of commercial technologies which are mature or nearing maturity to address immediate Army concerns. This access to the commercial market is intended to shorten the acquisition cycle and to reduce the development cost. The BAA requests proposals for technology demonstrations in areas of interest to the US Army Training and Doctrine Command's (TRADOC) Battle Labs. The solicitation process to be utilized calls for the initial submission of a 2-page concept paper in response to definitive topic areas listed in the BAA. Concept paper submissions are due to the address listed in the BAA at 4:00 p.m. local time on 2 June 1998. The concept paper will be evaluated and, if the technology is judged highly relevant based on criteria set forth in the BAA, the offeror will be invited to submit acomplete proposal for evaluation. Complete proposals are due to the address listed in the BAA at 4:00 p.m. local time on 4 August 1998.
