Y -- CAST CREEK TRAIL RECONSTRUCTION SOL R6-6-98-223 DUE 060598 POC Procurement and Property Management, 503/808-2581 The intent of this project is to restore the trail to its original condition and to relocate several sections onto new ground. Reconstruction includes, but is not limited to: reconstructing the trail to original grades and alignment; removing sloughs and berms; reshaping backslopes; removal of protruding rocks and roots; filling ruts and troughs; cutting back logs, stumps and brush, and refinishing the entire tread surface for the entire length of trail. Other work includes construction and reconstruction of waterbars, checkdams, switchbacks and footbridges. Six relocations will be built, consisting of new trail construction. Much of the project is within National Forest Wilderness. The Government will award a contract from this solicitation to the responsible quoter whose quote conforms to the solicitation that will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate the quote: 1) past performance; a) quality of service, b) customer satisfaction, c) cost control, d) business performance; however, the importance of price may become greater as the difference between the past performance evaluation decreases. Where past performance is determined to be substantially equal, price may control award. The estimated start work date is June 15, 1998. (0119)
