commercial or non-developmental item for an aiming post light for the
M14 Aiming Post. The aiming post lights are used in pairs for alignment
of field artillery weapons. The outside dimensions for the light are
approximately 8.25 inches x 2.00 inches x 4.00 inches. The housing for
the light shall be made of impact resistant plastic and be forest
green in color. The light shall have a clamping apparatus for mounting
to a 1.125 inch post while aligning the emitted light beam
perpendicular to the mounting post. The light shall contain two light
emitting diodes (LED's). The color of one LED shall be red with a peak
spectral wavelength of 630 to 650 NM and a luminous intensity of 2
millicandela. The color of the second LED shall be green with a peak
spectral wavelength of 540 to 575 NM and a luminous intensity of 20
millicandela. The light shall have a switch that allows the light to be
toggled between red, off and green. The light shall utilize two 1.5
volt batteriesto supply the LED's with power and the batteries be
accessible by a screw-on type cap. The light shall be watertight and
operate in temperatures between minus 40 degrees and plus 125
Fahrenheit. Any offeror having fan item which meets the above
characteristics for the aiming post light, in whole or in part, should

this advertisement. Provide the item description and performance
specification which addresses all required capabilities, and any other
salient characteristics; estimated unit cost, production rates,
delivery schedules, quantity produced to date, customers and supporting
commercial literature. Provide data to identify any special training
requirements for maintenance and operation. Describe what training
materials or commercial manuals are provided to users. Describe your
warranty program. Any contractors interested in participating in this
market research must provide response to this data call by NO LATER
