M. Wisdom Courts of Appeal in New Orleans, Louisana. Work includes modernizing the elevators with new solid state microprocessor controls, AC drive motors, car sling including safeties, cab door operator, hoistway doors and hardware, signal equipment, and all necessary material to insure the modernized elevators meet or exceed the current ASME-A17.1 Elevator Code and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards, and other items as mentioned in the specifications. Bids will be submitted under a two-step bid process, consisting of two parts. Part I will be a technical package which will be evaluated in four areas: 1) Experience and Past Performance; 2) Number of similar/comparable projects completed; 3) Reference scores; 4) Percentage of work the primary contractor will do internally. Part 2 will consist of the lump sum bid for one service elevator plus the bid for optional work on four more elevators. Only those bidders highly qualified in evaluation of Part 1 will have their bids opened to disclose their bid amounts. Solicitation packages will be available o/a June 1, 1998.
