Z -- CONSTRUCTION PRESOLICITATION NOTICE TO REPAIR/MODIFY THE NWI BUILDING DUE 051398 POC TSgt Frank J Strub at (505) 846-2646 This presolicitation notice is for a project located on Kirtland AFB; New Mexico which consists of all work necessary to repair the Nuclear Weapons Integration (NWI) building. Work includes but is not limited to: asbestos and lead abatement; major demolition of existing mechanical and electrical systems; construction of new-rated hallways, stairways, and an exterior stairway; installation of new electrical and mechanical systems for entire building. Options include 1) handicapped ramp and first floor bathroom renovation and 2) temporary offices/bathrooms for the NWI employees. The magnitude of construction is estimated between $1 -- $5 million. The SIC code is 1542 and the size standard is $17 Million. A firm fixed-price construction contract with a period of performance of 180 days after Notice to Proceed is contemplated. Presently no funds are available and no award will be made under this solicitation until funds are available. The government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, eitherbefore or after the closing date.
