Schwaberow, Contracting Officer, (650) 329-4177 The U.S. Geological Survey, Western Region, Menlo Park, California, intends to place on a sole-source basis, a purchase order with C & C Technologies, Lafayette, La. for use of the vessel "Ocean Alert", a vessel equiped by C & C Technologies for surveying the seafloor with a multibeam swath mapping system for bathymetry and acoustic backscatter. The ship is now mobilized and operating on the West Coast, at present in Southern California and will be surveying in the Monterey Bay Area in May 1998.
