The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Agricultural Statistical Service, has a requirement for the continuation of teleprocessing services for an period not to exceed an additional six months. The services are being provided by Lockheed Martin Corporation under Contract No. 53-3142-9-1022. The teleprocessing system consists of an unsupported version of an ADABAS database residing within a logical system partition on a mainframe computer. The system uses minimal memory and CPU power to sustain the database for no more than 25 concurrent users. Also required is the use of two or three DASD volumes and storage space for up to two hundred 3490 tape cartridges. The estimated cost of the requirement is $60,000.00. The USDA intends to negotiate with Lockheed Martin Corporation on a sole-source basis for these services under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1),only one responsible source will satisfy agency requirements. See Numbered Note 22. There is no solicitation document available for this requirement. Interested firms must submit their qualifications/capabilities in writing to the Contracting Officer within 15 days after publication of this notice. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this notice.
