NASA/SSC intends to purchase the nine(9)each, Eastman Kodak Company NAC HSV-500C3, Digital Camera System to include nine(9)each, 5 meter camera interface cable; nine(9)each, Video Tape Recorder (VTR)unit, SVHS format; nine(9)each, NAC HM zoom lens 10x5.5; nine(9)each, Camera carrying case; nine(9)each, Operation control unit with interface cable; nine(9)each, AC adapter; nine(9)each, Video interface cable; nine(9)each, Mating connector; and nine(9)each, Operation manual and case; eight(8)each, NAC Booster box for HSV-500C3; and two(2)each, IRIG-B Processor unit for HSV-500C3 (Five channel unit). This requirement includes four(4)options for additional camera systems totalling six(6)each. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as only one responsible source and no other supplies/services will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. An Ombudsman has been appointed. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, a proposal to include: descriptive literature of the offered products, prices, availability, warranty, business size, invoice terms, and published price lists of the equipment offered. All submitted offers will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. (0117)
