Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. Solicitation 53SBNB860059
previously published in the CBD on April 17, 1998 has been amended.
Amendment 0001 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation
for the procurement of single, multiple conductor, and high-voltage
cables for nuclear instrumentation. This amendment is issued in
accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only amendment of the above solicitation. A written amendment will not
be issued. The following questions (Q) have been asked by potential
offerors and answers (A) are provided: Q#1: Cables CLIN 0004, 0005,
0006 each use MHV and/or SHV connectors. The specification calls out
Kings or AMP connectors, but there is no further specification. I need
as much information as you can provide on these assemblies. A#1: All
MHV Connectors on items 0004 and 0005 are to be Kings KV-59-23 or
equivalent. All SHV connectors on CLINs 0004, 0005 and 0006 are to be
Kings 1705-1, AMP 51426-5 or equivalent. Q#2: Regarding CLINs
0004-0006: MHV and SHV connectors are specified. However, these come in
both male and female varieties. Which do you want? A#2: Answer #1 above
should answer this question. Q#3 Regarding CLINs 0002 & 0003: according
to the solicitation, NIST is planning on supplying 750 LEMO connectors.
These connectors have collets that need to be replaced to accommodate
the wire used. Is NIST also going to supply the new collets as well? Or
will the vendor have to purchase these as a separate item? A#3 NIST
will not be supplying the new collets. The vendor will have to purchase
these as a separate item. Q#4 Can Manhattan brand cable be used instead
of Alpha? A#4 This is a brand name or equal requirement. If quoting
other than brand name product, the offeror must provide the
manufacturer's brand, model or part number along with a technical
description of the items being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate
compliance with the requirements of the solicitation. This may include
product literature, specification sheets, cuts, illustrations,
drawings or other documents, if necessary. The due date for receipt of
quotes, April 30, 1998 at 3:00 p.m., and all other terms and
conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged. (0117) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0196 19980429\40-0002.SOL)
