S -- ELECTRICAL ENERGY SOL DAKF11-98-R-0027 DUE 070898 POC Contract Specialist JANIE P WRIGHT (404) 464-4104 (Site Code DAKF11) The Army Atlanta Contracting Center intends to award a contract for electrical energy at Fort McPherson, Georgia for a base year and two option years. Electrical energy shall be 3 phase, 60 hertz, 12.47 kilovolts delivered to the government electrical substation located on Lee Street, Atlanta, Georgia. Electrical consumption and demand varies due to weather conditions, post personnel population, mission, energy conservation measures, etc. Consumption for fiscal years 96 and 97 ranged from 2,200,000 kwh to 4,300,000 kwh per month. The high electrical consumption in fiscal year 98 could increase 10 to 15% over the fiscal years 96-97 consumption. Presently electrical energy is delivered to Fort McPherson over a 34.5 kilovolt Integrated Transmission System owned by Georgia Power Company, Oglethorpe Electric Membership Corporation, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia and the City of Dalton. Any cost incurred by the contractor to use the existing transmission and distribution system or for the construction of a new transmission and distribution system for the delivery of electrical energy to Fort McPherson shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
