The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the Research Foundation of State University of New York at Stony Brook (SUNY), Stony Brook, NY under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. This contract will allow NIST an approximate amount of dedicated user synchrotron beamtime applying simultaneous small and wide-angle x-ray scattering (SWAX) techniques to investigate structure and dynamics of polymeric materials. The beamline is dedicated to polymer synchrotron scattering with necessary support facilities and located at the National Synchrotorn Light Source, Brookhaven National Laboratory. This cost type contract will be for a base period of one (1) year from contract award, with two (2) additional 1-year option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
