S. Customs Service anticipates issuing a solicitation on or about May
11, 1998 (with closing 60 days after issuance) for the USCS National
Aircraft Maintenance, Logistics, and EDP Support Services. The
solicitation requirements are to provide program management, aircraft
maintenance, logistics, supply and Electronic Data Processing (EDP)
support necessary to ensure that Customs has the numbers, types and
properly configured aircraft available where and when required to meet
all Customs aviation operational commitments. Customs has
approximately 126 aircraft (including a variety of military and
commercial fixed and rotary wing, single and multi-engine aircraft)
which are assigned to approximately 20 different locations. The period
of performance will start on August 1, 1999 (for phase-in) with full
performance starting on October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000 with
the Government having the right to unilaterally exercise nine one year
options. The total possible duration of the contract is 10 years or
122 months. This is a full and open competition with the contract award
based on best value (trade-off) procedures. SIC 3728. All request for
