through Simplified Acquisition procedures from SRI International,
Menlo Park, CA, to complete the development of a finite element
computer model of a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria which will be used for
simulation studying the vehicle's crashworthiness in full frontal,
frontal oblique and side impact collisions. This will be used for
evaluating vehicle performance, occupant safety and fleet
compatibility. The contractor will be required to make the model
accurate and applicable for full scale vehicle crash simulations. Small
Business firms classified under SIC Code 8731 that are interested in
proposing on this requirement must demonstrate in writing no later than
15 days from the date of publication that they have developed a basic
model and are familiar with the units and specifications used in the
development of the basic model. Small business firms are required to
submit documentation in support of the above prior to receiving a
quotation. No telephone requests will be accepted -- only written
