is soliciting proposals (in the form of a negotiated firm-fixed price
contract requiring submission of both a technical and a price
proposal). The work of this contract consists of converting the three
level, 9600 square foot, Carriage Barn into a new visitor information
center, park administrative headquarters and collection storage
facility for the Marsh-Billings National Historical Park. The visitor
information area will contain an exhibit area, a program room, an
office and public restrooms. Park headquarters will consist of a
conference room, break area, a lobby, lavatories and offices. The
conservation storage facility will consist of a conservation storage
room, receiving room, offices, lavatory, workroom and supply room. Work
includes major structural stabilization and life safety improvements
such as fire detection and fire suppression systems. An intrusion
detection system and new mechanical system for heating and cooling will
part of the work. All exterior and interior surfaces are included. Also
included is minor work for connecting utility systems to the Mansion,
Generator Garage, and Double Cottages, and site development includes
grading, stone walls, stone paving, benches, planting and site lighting
on the portion of the site surrounding the barn. It also includes
utility connections. All work will be performed under a single
contract. -- Estimated price range, $1,000,00 to $2,500,00. -- Time for
completion, 280 calendar days. -- Offer response date is approximate;
actual date will be established at the time documents are available. --
