The National Imagery and Mapping Agency wishes to procure services to
support the Remote Replication System (RRS) Program. The RRS is
comprised of commercial hardware and software, which is configured to
provide NIMA with a system capability for reproducing hardcopy maps and
charts from both hardcopy and digital sources. NIMA requires Systems
Engineering, System Integration, Maintenance, Training, and Program
Management Services. The contractor shall be responsible for System
Engineering. This includes support and maintenance of a Design Test
Facility (DTF) that shall consist of a complete RRS configuration. The
DTF will be provided as government furnished property and used for
sustaining engineering, to analyze enhancements, and troubleshooting
procedures for maintenance. System Engineering shall provide the
capability to integrate future technology into the current RRS. The
contractor shall be responsible for System Integration. This includes
installation, checkout and testing, design verification testing,
factory acceptance testing, as well as, having a disciplined approach
to coordinate all aspects of a system, ensure that its individual parts
will function as intended in the operational environment and meet
contract requirements. The contractor shall provide RRS Operation and
Maintenance support services for hardware and software at numerous
sites. Maintenance shall be performed by cleared U.S National
contractor personnel. The contractor shall be responsible for
maintenance and operational training at each new site as well as
current sites. Operational training shall include systems operation,
scanner operations, communication, printers, software, storage
operations and minor system maintenance. The contractor shall be
responsible for Program Management and control (schedule, cost and
technical performance) for the services being provided. The contractor
shall be responsible for providing and maintaining qualified personnel
to perform all functions required (i.e., engineers, technicians,
maintenance personnel, etc). The solicitation will be issued in late
Spring or early Summer. The proposal due date will be in June/July
(tentative). Award will be made on a best value basis. All requests for
