Kiely, Contracting Officer, 202/435-6940 The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (a) (2), with Empire Steel Castings, Inc., 1501 Frush Valley, Laureldale, PA for purchase of Type A bollards with and without extensions. These bollards are produced and modified in accordance with USSS specifications. The subsequent contract will be for a base year and two option years which will total 36 months. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in preparing a response to this announcement. Award is anticipated on or before April 23, 1998. There is no formal solicitation package available, this notice is simply an announcement of the Government's intent, no a request for proposals. See Note 1 and Note 22.
