Measuring board 1) must be watertight and suitable for use on a small boat's open deck or in other harsh, exposed environments; 2) must be able to accept as direct input data from other sources such as electronic scales, as well as data entered manually on the board; 3) measurement range for direct measurements must be 0-100 cm, while measurement accuracy must be 0.5 cm in the range of 0-50 cm, 1.0 cm from 50 cm to 100 cm; 4) must be able to store at least 12 parameters for each specimen including length, weight, species, and sex, and the choice of parameters must be keyed to species; 5) must have memory capacity for 10,000 data entries; 6) functions described above must be programmable from a linked PC; 7) must be able to download all data records directly to a linked PC in a common data format such as ASCII or Microsoft Excel; and 8) vendor must be able to demonstrate thatproduct has been successfully operated in actual at-sea conditions by fisheries research organizations and has satisfied the above requirements.
