INDUSTRY BRIEFING FOR POSSIBLE OUTSOURCING UNDER THE COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES OMB CIRCULAR A-76 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), Point Mugu, CA, plans to hold an Industry Briefing on 1 May 1998, from 8:00 am -- 11:00 pm at the Marriott Residence Inn, 2101 West Vineyard Avenue, Oxnard, CA for the upcoming acquisition for Aircraft Maintenance and Repair services in support of QF-4 aircraft assigned to Naval Weapon Test Squadron Point Mugu. The acquisition will be conducted as a Cost Comparison Study as prescribed by OMB Circular A-76 for the Performance of Commercial Activities. The contracting office anticipates issuing an unrestricted solicitation for a three-year contract. Based on the results of the cost comparison, the Government may elect to award a contract or to retain the function in house. A site visit is scheduled from 1:00 pm -- 3:00 pm on 1 May 1998 at NAWCWPNS, Point Mugu, CA. All visitors to the NAWCWPNS Station must be badged prior to access to the base. Please provide social security numbers for all attendees planning to attend the site visit. Badges will be issued prior to boarding the Government provided transportation onto the Station. Additional information regarding the site visit will be provided at the Industry Briefing. The Performance Work Statement (PWS) is posted in its entirety on the internet. Of particular interest are areas where you believe the requirements are ambiguous, overly restrictive, and /or where you believe they can be streamlined to allow alternate approaches. Attendance at the briefing will be limited to two representatives from each responding company. The briefing will be unclassified. The briefing may be recorded on video tape.
