Scott (703) 305-5124 THE SCIENTIFIC EQUIPMENT INVITES YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SECOND OPENS SEASON COVERING FEDERAL SUPPLY SCHEDULE GROUP 66, PART II, SECTION C: LABORATORY CLINICAL AND BIOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT AND DIRECTLY RELATED ACCESSORIES AND OPTIONS. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ON OR ABOUT MAY 26, 1998. SIGNIFICANT CHANGES: A standing solicitation allows vendors to submit offers at anytime and there will be no closing date for receipt of offers under this solicitation. Contracts awarded will be indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity with FOB Destination. Contracts awarded under this solicitation will have a contract period beginning on the date of award and last for five (5) years, unless canceled or terminated for default. These new provisions will ensure that customers are provided a continuous source of supply. Under the new modification provision, current contractors are allowed to offer new special item numbers (SIN's) at anytime during the contract period. Therefore, current contractor's are not required to submit an offer under this open season. A new special item number (603-1004) for new technologies have been added to this schedule. The new SIN is for new products made available to the commercial and Government marketplace. This will be an open-continuous (evergreen) SIN. Offers under this SIN may be submitted at anytime. There is no implied guarantee that the products offered will be recognized and accepted as new technology. New offers or current contractors must submit a cover letter, applicable technical brochures and current pricelist(s). All materials submitted will be reviewed for acceptance by the Government's Technical experts. Of the offered item(s) are deemed acceptable by the Government "New Offerors" will be issued a complete copy of schedule Group 66, Part II, Section C solicitation. Offers for identical items may be accepted. The Government will award contracts for identical brand name items when offers are determined to be fair and reasonable to the Government. Offers will be solicited for Product Support Options, the applicable SIN's are as follows: 603-4000 -- Equipment Maintenance 603-4001 -- Pre-Purchase Calibration 603-4002 -- Post Purchase Calibration 603-4003 -- Extended Warranty 603-4004 -- Service Agreements 603-4005 -- Technical Training 603-4006 -- Technical/Application Development Support In order to provide product support options, the offeror must be an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or be (OEM) certified and approved. The offeror shall comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and/or standards which govern the particular equipment and are of commercial practice. Offers will be solicited based upon National coverage within the 48 continuous states, and the District of Columbia. Offers will also be solicited for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii and Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Offers will be solicited to offer Federal customers the option to lease equipment. The following lease options under Special Item Number (SIN) 603-5000 will be accepted: Lease to Ownership (Capital Lease) Lease with Option-to Own (Operating Lease) Lease of a Solution Lease options are solicited in accordance with the offeror's terms and conditions based upon commercial practice. Offeror shall comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and/or standards which govern the particular equipment and are of commercial practice. Offers will be solicited based upon National coverage within the 48 continuous states, and the District of Columbia. Offers will also be solicited for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii and Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. New offerors or current contractors must submit a cover letter, applicable terms and conditions and current pricelist(s). All materials submitted will be reviewed for consideration for award. Only offerors with good merit will be accepted. All products must be compliant with Year 2000 (Y2K) warranty requirements.
