The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract under Request for Proposal Number N00039-98-R-0081 to Data Link Solutions, L.L.C. (350 Collins Road, N.E., Cedar Rapids, IA 52498), a limited liability company formed between GEC-Marconi Hazeltine (GMH) and Rockwell-Collins Tactical Data Links. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposal (RFP) for this requirement will be issued on or around 23 April 1998. This acquisition provides engineering services that require the contractor to provide technical support for special investigations, studies, and analyses for the JTIDS (Joint Tactical Information Distribution System) and MIDS (Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems) terminals and variants thereof to include the MIDS Fighter Data Link (FDL) and associated equipment. The requirement is for one (1) base-year (projected start date of 17 Aug 1998) with four (4) consecutive one-year options. The projected contract type will be a CPFF (Cost Plus Fixed Fee) IDIQ(Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contract. The minimum and maximum contract values shall be established at the time of RFP issuance for the base year, as well as for all the option years.
