22310-3398 M -- PRODUCTION OF SINGLE CRYSTAL TUNGSTEN TUBES BY THE CHEMICAL VAPOR
DEPOSITION METHOD POC Tanya Stasiuk, Negotiator, (703) 325-5029, Scott
G. Morton, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-1200 The Defense Special
Weapons Agency (DSWA) is hereby canceling the RFP entitled, "Production
of Single Crystal Tungsten Tubes by the Chemical Vapor Deposition
Method," synopsized in the CBD on 19 Feb 98 and issued on 12 Mar 98,
synopsis no. 98-58. DSWA's objective was to develop a U.S. capability
for manufacturing single-crystal tungsten tubes by the Chemical Vapor
Deposition (CVD) to achieve a bare work function of 5.1eV. DSWA
recently learned of techniques involving chemical etching which
increases the bare work function of single-crystal tubes to the desired
value of 5.1eV. DSWA hopes to achieve a bare work function of 5.1eV
without the added costs of developing a new CVD process. Information on
DSWA solicitations, already released, can be obtained by calling the
DSWA Hotline at (703) 325-1173. Acquisition Management has added
"Procurement Opportunities" to the DSWA Home Page available on the
World Wide Web. Information will include this synopsis and more. Please
