Glitz, Contracting Officer This is a correction to the CBD Synopsis
dated April 02, 1998: The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention,
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Department
of Health and Human Services contemplates awarding a three year
cost-reimbursement contract with two options years, plus additional
options. This procurement is set aside 100% for small business. The
purpose of this procurement is to provide technical and administrative
support for a series of special leadership, training, synthesis and
technical assistance activities. The contractor will: (1) establish and
train multi-disciplinary community teams to prevent substance abuse
related violence; (2) provide technical assistance to these teams and
to CSAP grantees; (3) hold meetings, symposia and special events
meetings; (4) to develop a training manual for preventing gang
substance abuse-related violence; (5) synthesize research on substance
abuse-related violence in the media and (6) conduct a meta-analysis on
CSAP's five Violence Prevention grantees. The estimated date for
issuance of this RFP is April 22, 1998 with responses due approximately
thirty days later. This solicitation may be obtained in either of two
ways; by mail, or electronically, by downloading a file from the World
Wide Web at http://www.samhsa.gov/contract. Files will not be made
available on the World Wide Web until on or after the estimated
issuance date. Download instructions are posted on the Web. Once
downloaded, you should determine if you have a continuing interest in
the RFP. If so, you must either write the individual identified above
that you wish copies of amendments to the RFP (if any) sent to you by
mail or check the Web regularly for amendments which will also be
posted there and can be downloaded electronically. You may choose any
of the two methods for obtaining amendments. Note, however, that if you
rely on the Web for obtaining amendments, at this time we have no way
to assure, and will therefore assume no responsibility for assuring,
you have downloaded these amendments. Requests for copies of the RFP to
be mailed must be made in writing and will be honored if received
within twenty calendar days after issuance of the solicitation.
Requests received after this period will be filled on a first-come,
first-served basis until the supply is exhausted; however, there is no
assurance that copies requested after the twentieth day will reach the
requestor before the due date for receipt of responses. Telephone
requests will not be honored. All responsible sources may submit a
