Contract Specialist,913-682-8700,X320 -- fax:913/682-1176 The U.S. Penitentiary, Leavenworth KS 66048, is soliciting a contractor to design and install a completely operational, electrically operated wheelchair lift with a compatible handrail, capable of carrying approx. 500 lbs of weight. The contractor shall remove and dispose of a current wheelchair lift located in front of the main institution building, traversing approximately 49 steps. Upon removal of that lift, the contractor shall install the new one. The new wheelchair lift, handrail and related equipment must meet current ADA guidelines and all federal, state and local codes for handicap accessibility. All prospective offerors are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit, currently scheduled for 10:00 a.m. local time, Thursday, April 16, 1998.
