Center is searching for pricing information on scarce medical research
studies. These studies are performed using magnetic resonance
spectroscopic imagig which generates thousands of spectra which require
specially designed software and processing techniques. The studies
include: Siemens magnet of Alzheimer's disease in human brain, multiple
sclerosis in human brain, AIDS dementia in human brain, alcoholism in
human brain, substance abuse in human brain, schizophrenia in human
brain, epilepsy in human brain, porcine heart, post traumatic study
disorder of human brain, parkinsons disease, Amyotrophic Lateral
Sclerosis, Neurodegenerative Disease, SMIS magnet stroke in rat brain,
SMIS magnet of epilepsy in rat brain. Highly trained professionals are
necessary to perform these procedures. The labor classification is as
follows: Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopist(s) General Spectroscopist(s)
Software Engineer(s) (who can use highly specialized computer software)
VA is requestingpricing information of a fully burdened hourly rate for
each labor classification above, inclusive of overhead and profit (with
a for profit organization). Also, based on the hourly rate given, what
would be the cost per study, and how many hours needed for each study.
