Dear Prospective Customer: As you are aware, the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service is responsible for disposal of a large variety of surplus Department of Defense equipment and supplies. Three of these commodities are Medical, Dental, and Veterinarien Equipment and Supplies. In view of constant Governmnet downsizing and rising administrative cost, we are trying to find new and more cost-effective ways to market this surplus property. One of these ways is the possibility to make all property available to one contractor, who then adds value to the property, resells the property, and shares the profits with us. This is a major change from our traditional sales methods and is intended to bring us more in line with Commercial Venture practices. In an effort to ensure that our proposed method of sale for Medical, Dental, and Veterinarian Equipment and Supplies is feasable and fair to all parties involved, we request your opinion on the Request for Technical Proposal RFTP 99-8001. To achief this goal of producing a mutual acceptable package, we feel it is important that you, the prospective contractor, have a chance to comment before we send out the final product.
