The Bureau of Reclamation intends to contract with the Western Systems Coordinating Council (WSCC) as a continued effort to maintain the reliability and adequacy of the regions interconnected bulk power system. The WSCC groups help to ensure a reliable power system for the entire western United States. WSCC members share resources so electric power is reliably and economically produced for their customers. The interconnected transmission system integrates power producing facilities such as hydroelectric with large coal-fired and nuclear generating stations. It is the Bureau of Reclamation's belief that WSCC, 540 Arapean Drive, Suite 203, Salt Lake City, UT 84108-1288 is the only source capable of providing this regional/interregional coordination of the Nation's electric power supply and provide for optimum utiliation of hydroelectric resources.
