D -- PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF 2-WAY COMMUNICATION TERMINALS ABLE TO RECEIVE ALLIED COMMAND EUROPE WEATHER EXCHANGE SYSTEM DATA AND TRANSMIT IT TO NATO SOL F61521-98-Q120 POC The Contract Specialist, Ms. Cathy Castle, and Contracting Officer, Ms. Marsha Harris, can be contacted at 011-49-631-536-6736 NATO commands exchange data via the Allied Command Europe Weather Exchange System (ACEWX). The purpose of this procurement is fulfill the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE) need to receive data from this system in garrison and field locations throughout Europe and portions of Northern Africa. Personal Earth Stations (PES) with the ability to receive the ACEWX transmission and transmit data back to NATO shall be provided. The PES must be capable of fixed and mobile operations. In addition, maintenance of the PES, access to data from the SATCOM transponder and site licenses shall be provided. Installation in Spain and Italy is also required. The anticipated order date for this firm fixed price action is 04 May 98. The system must be delivered and fully operational no later than 31 May 98. A three year period of performance is anticipated. The issuance of a noncompetitive order to Deutches TELECOM is anticipated based on the need to ensure interoperability with other NATO weather units.
